Social and Environmental Responsability

 

In Zapotec culture, there is a strong tradition of respect and communion with nature which is today called environmental responsibility and sustainability.

To cook our agaves at Mezcal Tosba we use recycled wood from the river from the annual rainy season floods in order to reduce logging. We also support federal and local government campaigns for reforestation.

Aditionally, we support initiatives for social and economic development in the region, including:

Rigoberta Menchu Foundation funding for a coffee processing plant at San Juan Yetzcovi.

Support to Local Agencies of development for the UN FAO PESA program.
